Sea Lord - The WW1 Navy Film about Admiral John ‘Jacky’ Fisher
SEA LORD - a true story charting the remarkable rise and fall of Admiral John Fisher, First Sea Lord of the British Admiralty. Proposal for a dramatic feature film by his great great grand-daughter Film Producer, Penelope Fisher.
SEA LORD - a dramatised account of the defining eight months of Admiral John Fisher’s life, from October 1914 to May 1915. An exceptional and paradoxical man, John ‘Jacky’ Fisher (b.1841 d.1920) was responsible for creating the modern British Navy. He was Sir Winston Churchill’s mentor and together the two men ruled the Admiralty in the first year of World War I.
ADMIRAL JOHN FISHER, FIRST SEA LORD - a huge personality, an exceptional man and one of the most important figures in British Naval history. He devoted his career to the defence of Britain. His complex, energetic personality shaped the nation and won him admirers and enemies in equal measure. Fierce, stubborn, determined, charming and pragmatic. Celebrated as a master innovator and strategist, he was the brains behind the first all big gun battleship HMS Dreadnought, a game changer in the early 20th century arms race.
JOHN ARBUTHNOT FISHER, 1ST BARON FISHER OF KILVERSTONE - a caring husband and father, a devoted church-goer, but in love with Nina, Duchess of Hamilton. Enormously popular, he was a national treasure in his day and a confidant of Queen Victoria, King Edward VII and the young Sir Winston Churchill.
